Jose Perez, D.M.D. M.S.
Periodontics, Dental Implants, and Dental Surgery
Dr. Perez is originally from Puerto Rico and received his DMD degree in 1990. After practicing general dentistry for 10 years in his office in Puerto Rico, Dr. Perez furthered his education by attending Boston University and received his Advanced Specialty Training in Periodontics.
As a periodontal resident, he launched and directed Institutional clinical research in periodontal-crown-lengthening surgery, and restorability of teeth. His research led to the publication of a thesis and an added Master of Science Degree.
He is the author of two scientific articles in the Journal of Periodontology. In 2010, Dr. joined the United States Navy Dental Corps. During his Naval career, he served as the Department Head of Periodontics, Fleet Marine Force Warfare Officer Program Manager, Continuing Education Provider, and Command Infection Prevention and Control Officer.
He is currently working on an extensive publication on the topic of crown-lengthening surgery and restorability of teeth. His approach involves a multidisciplinary integrated intervention to achieve exceptional aesthetic and functional restorative outcomes.
Dr. Perez brings this incredible background and experience to our group, and we are honored to have him as part of our curriculum. His professional passion and ability will improve greatly our professional expertise. In his free time, Dr. Perez enjoys general fitness, rollerblading, martial arts, swimming and water sports. He also enjoys reading and practicing Yoga.
